Q: One visitor asked, "Do you have any suggestions on removing glued down carpet from hardwood flooring? The carpet has been on the floors since the early 70's, it is rubber backed and the glue is a tan color."

A: You can scrape off most of the underpad and if the floor can tolerate another sanding, then the rest could be removed by sanding machines. Not a pleasant job in any case.
