Q: One visitor asked, "We are installing a 3/4 inch thick light oak hardwood floor. Area we live has considerable rain and snow. Should we use hardwood in front of the entry door or should we use another material? Suggestions on other materials and how to's would be greatly appreciated."

A: If you are expecting a lot of moisture to follow you into the front doorway, it may be a good idea to go with some sort of stone or ceramic.
