Q: One visitor asked, "I am planning to lay 3/4" Prefinished Red Oak flooring. Should I leave a 2 or 3 mm gap every meter for expansion?"

A: No to the gap. You should leave at least 1/2" along the outside walls. You should also try to maintain the relative humidity in the home from 30%-50% year round to avoid severe expansion or contraction.
