Q: One visitor asked, "I had hardwood floors laid down throughout the house last year on top of our cement foundation. The handy-man we had paid did not do a very good job and unfortunately left quite a few uneven areas so when you step onto the individual wood planks they pop! They were originally glued down and this popping sound is driving me crazy. Am I able to pilot a hole and than nail the floor plank with cement nails? Or is there a way to pump glue underneath the floor planks without ripping the floor planks up? Is there a better route to go?"

A: I would go the route of drilling a small pilot hole and injecting adhesive. I know there are some companies that make such a product for this very purpose. I believe Vermeister is one. You may also check Bostik-Findlay, the makers of Bostiks Best urethane adhesive. They may also make such a product. The idea is that the adhesive will enter the cavity, expand as it cures, gripping both the underside of the flooring and the concrete. Just fill the nail hole with colour match putty or some sort of filler.
