Stone Floors
Stone floors:
- Granite
- Terrazzo
- Marble
- Flagstones
- To list but a few
Another very practical floor to have in the home is stone. This can be anything from marble or granite to terracotta and the very traditional flagstones.
Examples|
Marble
Stone is very popular in the kitchen, conservatory or hallways although it can be used in many other situations. South Western Flooring can lay new stone flooring for you, scrub clean and apply a seal or maybe totally renovate an existing floor, sometimes this is done by way of regrinding the surface to leave a natural shine. Call us with your querie we will be happy to try and help. (Pictured on the left is a marble floor after regrinding.)
Terrocotta
This picture is of a Terracotta floor that has been scrubbed clean and seal applied to the surface. This will prevent dirt getting into the stone and make cleaning a simple process of mopping when necessary with a neutral detergent.
Flagstones
One of the most traditional forms of flooring is flagstones. These are both durable and easy to look after. Many older properties have flagstones and it is possible in most cases to renovate these. If it is necessary we can make repairs, replace the grout or you can have a new flagstone floor installed by us.
Terrazzo
There are two types of Terrazzo. Poured Terrazzo which is a continuous sheet of flooring and the other is Terrazzo Tiles which are individual tiles laid together to create the finished floor. This type of flooring is very hard wearing and practical for many areas of a property. It is possible for us to renovate these floors. We can make repairs, grind and polish the surface to a finish that you require or simply just clean and protect the floor.
