  Tile Floors Many people are very lucky to uncover original period Victorian or Edwardian Mosaic Tiles. This is often the case in hallways where they have been covered for many years by carpets. These can most definately be transformed from something which looks tired and abused, to provide you with a stunning entrance to your property, which will certainly catch the eye of any visitor. South Western Flooring can provide a service from just a scrub clean and reseal to a complete renovation of a tile floor including repairing and replacing of tiles. For tiled floors South Western cleaning can:- Repair and replace damaged or cracked tiles Grinding floor surfaces Deep cleaning surfaces Application of seal or oiling Repairing substrate Application of threshold This picture shows repairs are required to be made on a mosaic floor. It is part of the same floor as the photograph above. This is another example of a mosaic floor which we have renovated. Due to a water leak below, part of this beauiful floor had to be lifted. A damp proof membrane installed and the tiles relayed. Below are some photos of the work in progress.  Parts of the floor after being lifted and removed from site. Every tile was then cleaned by hand removing all the old grout and adhesive. The tiles are now being relaid after the damp proof membrane and surface preparation has been undertaken. Taking great care to follow the correct pattern. Following the laying of the mosaic tiles, black and red tiles were replaced underneath the stairs where the cupboard partition had been removed. The border ajoining the red and black tiles was neatened up replacing with new yellow and white tiles to compliment the existing floor. The joints were then grouted allowed to dry and the whole floor was given a deep clean. The last step was to apply a seal to the whole floor to prevent dirt from penatrating the surface and ensuring the easy maintenance of the floor in the future. I think you will agree after being discovered hiding under a carpet and the careful restoration of this floor makes it an extremely beautiful and practical addition to the property.
